Bonehunters Quarry
For ages 10 and under.
Tuesday–Friday, 1–3 p.m.
Thursday, 1–8 p.m.
(May also be open weekdays from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. when not in use by school groups pre-registered for the space.)
Saturday, 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Sunday, Noon–4:30 p.m.
Experience the thrill of hands-on excavation at Bonehunters Quarry, Carnegie Museum of Natural History's interactive fossil dig! After being issued protective goggles, a chisel, and a brush, scrape away at rock matrix to reveal realistic fossil casts buried below. You, too, can help excavate a dinosaur or mammal! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Discover Carts
Saturday, 1–3 p.m.
Sunday, 1:30–3:30 p.m.
Docents help visitors examine natural history specimens and artifacts up close.

Discovery Room
Tuesday–Friday, 1–3 p.m.
Thursday, 1–8 p.m.

Exploration Stations
Select Saturdays, noon–4 p.m.
Teen Docents guide hands-on activities and object explorations in the museum's halls. Check TODAY sheets, available at the museum, for locations.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Biotechnology Lab
Saturday, noon–4 p.m.
Visit the Thermo Fisher Scientific Biotechnology Lab and explore state-of-the-art technology that will engage children and adults of all ages in exciting hands-on explorations of biotechnology. Ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

*Open 10 a.m.–5 p.m.on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, and Mondays in the summer between 4th of July and Labor Day.
