Carnegie Museum of Natural History offers a variety of tours to visitors who would like to learn more about what the museum has on display and in its collections. These topics regularly change depending on current museum offerings and programming. Any scheduled times and information for tours that do not require registration are listed below


Gallery Tours

These tours regularly feature up close looks at our most renowned exhibits, like Dinosaurs in Their Time, or could feature specific items throughout the museum to highlight our Super Science Series programming. See what topics are being featured on the activity sheet at the front admission desk as well as on gallery signage.


Behind-the-Scenes: Shells & Research Tour

From octopuses to oysters, get an up-close look at the weird and wonderful collection of mollusks.

The next behind-the-scenes tour will be Saturday, August 19, 2017
with 30 minute tours available every half hour from 1–3 p.m.

Spotlight Tours

Spotlight tours feature specific specimens within the Carnegie Museum of Natural History collection. Guides stationed throughout the museum shine new light on fascinating information than can easily be missed in a day of exploring. Items featured change regularly, so check to see what items are featured by grabbing a copy of the activity sheet at the front admission desk.
