Overnight Adventures & Pajama Nights

Overnights and Pajama Nights have ended for the season. Check back this summer for the fall schedule. Private overnights may still be booked.  overnights-sm 

Families, school and homeschool groups, scout troops, and youth groups—bring your sleeping bags for a "camping" experience inside Carnegie Museum of Natural History!

Each Overnight and Pajama Night includes hands-on projects, museum tours, games, and a snack. Overnight Adventures include a continental breakfast and embroidered patch. Theme-based adventures may offer a Science on Stage performance or special guest appearances.

Meals
Please, to preserve our exhibits and collections, no outside food or drink. Contact us to discuss special dietary needs. Overnights and Pajama Nights include a light snack; please make suresharing participants have had their evening meal prior to arriving. Breakfast for Overnights includes cereal, milk, juice, muffins or mini donuts, bagels, fruit, coffee, and tea.

Private Overnights
Special overnights are available for individual groups—choose from any of the themes described in our brochures. Advance notice of at least eight weeks is required. Pricing begins at 75 participants; smaller groups pay the 75-person minimum. Maximum of 120 participants. Call us for more information.

One adult for every 1–5 children (6 children=2 adults, etc.). Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult chaperone; adults must stay through entire overnight.
Fee
$40 per person, including chaperones. Fee includes a $10 non-refundable deposit due within 30 days of booking, and must be paid in full no later than one month in advance of the overnight. Unpaid reservations may result in cancellation of a program. No refund will be granted for withdrawals made with less than thirty days’ notice.
AccommodationsParticipants sleep on carpeted and tiled floors as a group. No tents or air mattresses are permitted; sleeping bags, pillows, and a sleeping pad work well. Please dress appropriately for community sleeping. Access to electrical outlets available for special needs.

Inclement Weather

Should hazardous conditions result in cancellation of programs, announcements will be made on television stations KDKA, WTAE, and WPXI.
