SUMMARY:Science and Nature Lecture with Bryce Stouffer
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we explore seasonal natural history phenomena of Powdermill Nature Reserve! A lecture will be given in the Parker Room at 2 pm\, followed by a short outdoor exploration. Lectures are structured for adult audiences\, and children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Program participants and visitors are expected to adhere to the public health guidance and Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh procedures in place at the time of their visit. \nAerial photographs from hot air balloons in the mid-1850s are the earliest examples from the field of remote sensing. Remote sensing has since evolved to include hyperspectral satellite based sensors and modern consumer-grade unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Learn the history and fundamental principles of remote sensing and how Powdermill’s GIS Lab uses UAS technology in conservation research applications.\n[swcheckout site=”6″ item=”111235″]
