SUMMARY:Science and Nature Lecture with Amy Covell-Murthy\, Collection Manager\, Archaeology and Head of the Section of Anthropology
DESCRIPTION:Learn about the archaeology collection\, its connection to local history\, and how we care for cultural material at Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Amy Covell-Murthy (she/her) handles the Museum’s Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) compliance and studies the importance of Human Remains Policies in collecting institutions. Let’s talk about the intersectionality of cultural respect and research! \nLectures are structured for adult audiences\, and children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. \nEvents fill up fast! Registration is recommended to guarantee your spot and help us plan timing\, seating\, and/or trail routes. If there are spots available at the time of the program\, non-registered individuals can join on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nProgram participants and visitors are expected to adhere to the public health guidance and Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh procedures in place at the time of their visit. \n[swcheckout site=”6″ item=”111237″]
