SUMMARY:Science and Nature Lecture: The Summer of Smoke and Fire
DESCRIPTION:This summer wildfires across the globe made headlines and caused widespread smoke\, forcing the Air Quality Index to sky-rocket in far-reaching places to right here in Pennsylvania. Join forest ecologist and Director of Science and Research Dr. Rose-Marie Muzika to learn more about forest fires and the impacts of fire and smoke. Dr. Muzika will share a global\, continental\, and regional picture of the ingredients that contribute to massive fires and the consequences that arise from them. \nJoin us as we explore seasonal natural history phenomena of Powdermill Nature Reserve! A lecture will be given in the Parker Room at 2 pm. Lectures are structured for adult audiences\, and children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Events fill up fast!
