Event Navigation
Help your students contribute to science! Join us at Powdermill Nature Reserve, the Environmental Research Station of Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Rector, PA as we explore different tools to observe and sample biodiversity in natural landscapes. Learn techniques for recording and analyzing nature observations in the woodlands surrounding Powdermill, and sketch with pencil and paper.
Use digital photography and the iNaturalist app to contribute data to crowdsourced science efforts. Find out how a trip to Powdermill can help your students experience and study the natural world. This workshop will introduce classroom activities that will help your students participate in people-powered science and investigate nature around them.
Funding is available to reimburse your school or district for substitute teacher costs on the day that you attend this workshop.
